Mac storage is almost full

Try these steps in order. Stop if a step does not apply to your device or could risk important data.

1. Open System Settings > General > Storage.
2. Review large files and unused applications.
3. Empty the Trash.
4. Move photos or videos to an external drive or cloud storage.
5. Remove old iPhone or iPad backups you no longer need.

Back up important files before repairs that may affect storage or system settings.
