Steam downloads are slow
Try these steps in order. Stop if a step does not apply to your device or could risk important data.
- Restart Steam, the PC, and the router.
- Open Steam > Settings > Downloads.
- Choose a nearby Download Region.
- Make sure download speed limits are disabled or high enough.
- Pause other large downloads and cloud backups.
- Try Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi.

Back up important files before repairs that may affect storage or system settings.
