PC won’t turn on

Try these steps in order. Stop if a step does not apply to your device or could risk important data.

  1. Check the wall outlet and power cable.
  2. Make sure the rear power-supply switch is set to I.
  3. Disconnect USB devices and try again.
  4. Unplug the PC and reseat one RAM stick at a time.
  5. If there are still no lights or fans, the power supply or motherboard may need testing.
More help: Never open a power supply. Stop if you smell burning or see smoke.

Back up important files before repairs that may affect storage or system settings.
